About The Team

Tamworth Hospital is one of the largest regional hospitals in Hunter New England Local Health District. It provides a wide range of acute and specialist healthcare services to the community.

The Security team works with clinical and support staff. Together, they help keep the hospital safe, welcoming, and secure for patients, visitors, and employees.

About The Role

You will report to the Security Manager. You will work with a team that provides security services across Tamworth Hospital and, when needed, other Hunter New England Health facilities.

In This Frontline Role, You Will

  • Keep patients, visitors, staff, and hospital assets safe and secure.
  • Respond to security incidents, emergencies, and requests for help in a calm and professional way.
  • Support vulnerable patients and families with empathy and respect.
  • Work with different teams to support patient and staff safety.
  • Complete accurate incident reports and maintain clear records.
  • Work on a 24/7 rotating roster with 12-hour shifts.

Each shift brings new challenges. You will also have opportunities to support the wellbeing of the community.

About You

You will have a strong security background, good communication skills, and a genuine commitment to customer service. You will stay calm under pressure, use good judgement, and treat everyone with respect and care.

Previous healthcare security experience is highly regarded but is not essential. If you have the right attitude, want to learn, and care about supporting your community, training and support will be provided.

Essential Requirements

  • Current NSW Class 1A Security Licence.

What You’ll Be Doing

Provide a prompt and efficient security and emergency response service throughout the buildings and grounds of the campus. The goal is to maintain a safe and secure environment for staff, patients, and visitors.

The security service protects people and helps minimise property loss or damage. All security services must follow relevant policies and procedures.
