They are currently seeking for junior sous chef at Matakauri Lodge, that is located seven minutes from Queenstown, in the South Island, and spectacularly situated on Lake Wakatipu. Responsibilities of Chef:

  • Duties include assisting the Head / Sous Chefs with the creation of daily changing breakfast, lunch and dinner menus, the day-to-day running of the kitchen including health & safety and staff welfare.
  • You will need to have knowledge and experience in all areas of the kitchen, flexibility and the ability to think on your feet.
  • Management of time, food costs, ordering and stock controls are essential for this role.
  • They offer excellent training, staff accommodation, competitive wages and delicious staff lunches!
  • In addition, they endeavor whenever possible to provide staff with 2 days in a row off each week.

Requirements for Chef:

  • Four, or more, years of previous relevant experience
  • A commitment to high standards, presentation and luxury quality
  • The ability to foster teamwork; leading by example and being proactive and ‘hands-on.’
  • A natural desire to problem-solve and achieve practical solutions.
  • Extremely high attention to detail and exceptional organization skills
  • Professionalism in everything you do.
