Farm Supervisor Jobs in Canada. Birak Berry Farms Ltd. is seeking a dedicated and experienced Farm Supervisor to join our team in Richmond, BC. This permanent, full-time position offers a competitive wage of $19.50 per hour, with responsibilities that include supervising and coordinating the work of farm staff, ensuring the quality and safety of crop production, and maintaining farm equipment. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of relevant agricultural experience and a high school diploma or GED. As a Farm Supervisor, you will play a key role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our blueberry, garlic, raspberry, and strawberry crops, while also fostering a supportive and safe work environment for a diverse team, including newcomers, youth, veterans, and Indigenous individuals.

Full Job Description

  • Organize tasks to accomplish the work
  • Provide agricultural crop services such as plowing, irrigating, cultivating, spraying or harvesting
  • Co-ordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers
  • Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed
  • Maintain quality control and production records
  • Supervise and oversee growing and other crop-related operations
  • Maintain work records and logs
  • Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
  • Perform general farm duties
  • Support For Newcomers and Refugees

  • Assists with immediate settlement needs of newcomers and/or refugees (for example: housing, transportation, storage, childcare, winter clothing, etc.)
  • Supports social and labour market integration of newcomers and/or refugees (for example: facilitating access to community resources, language training, skills training, etc.)
  • Recruits newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster (for example: Ukraine, Afghanistan, etc.)
  • Supports newcomers and/or refugees with foreign credential recognition
  • Offers mentorship programs that pair newcomers and/or refugees with experienced employees
  • Support For Veterans

  • Recruits Veterans and other candidates with military experience through targeted hiring initiatives (for example: job fairs, outreach programs etc.)
  • Support For Indigenous People

  • Develops and maintains relationships with indigenous communities, indigenous-owned businesses and organizations
  • Provides cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers
