Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations on-site.

  • Moreover Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to understand job requirements.

  • Select, clean, and prepare metal stock for fabrication.

  • Cut metal sections and shapes accurately using hand tools, flame-cutting torches, and metal-cutting machines.

  • Shape and bend metal parts and pipes through hand and machine tools, heating, and hammering.

  • Align and position parts to be joined with hand tools and measuring instruments.

  • Moreover Perform welding using various techniques, as well as bolting and riveting metal sections.

  • Inspect welds for bead width, penetration, and overall quality.

  • Finish products by cleaning, polishing, filing, and applying acidic solutions where necessary.

  • Smooth welds by filing, chiseling, and grinding to achieve a professional finish.


Requirements

  • Proven background in fabrication and welding of structural steel.

  • Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in welding and fabrication.

  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

  • Commitment to maintaining a high standard of work quality.

  • Excellent teamwork skills and a positive, proactive attitude.

  • Applicants must have New Zealand residency or the right to work in NZ.


Skills

  • Moreover Proficiency with welding equipment and metal-cutting machinery.

  • Skilled in various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, arc welding, etc.).

  • Strong attention to detail and precision in fabrication.

  • Moreover Good hand-eye coordination and physical stamina.

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

  • Sound knowledge of health and safety practices in fabrication and welding.
