Key Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations on-site.
Moreover Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to understand job requirements.
Select, clean, and prepare metal stock for fabrication.
Cut metal sections and shapes accurately using hand tools, flame-cutting torches, and metal-cutting machines.
Shape and bend metal parts and pipes through hand and machine tools, heating, and hammering.
Align and position parts to be joined with hand tools and measuring instruments.
Moreover Perform welding using various techniques, as well as bolting and riveting metal sections.
Inspect welds for bead width, penetration, and overall quality.
Finish products by cleaning, polishing, filing, and applying acidic solutions where necessary.
Smooth welds by filing, chiseling, and grinding to achieve a professional finish.
Requirements
Proven background in fabrication and welding of structural steel.
Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in welding and fabrication.
Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Commitment to maintaining a high standard of work quality.
Excellent teamwork skills and a positive, proactive attitude.
Applicants must have New Zealand residency or the right to work in NZ.
Skills
Moreover Proficiency with welding equipment and metal-cutting machinery.
Skilled in various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, arc welding, etc.).
Strong attention to detail and precision in fabrication.
Moreover Good hand-eye coordination and physical stamina.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Sound knowledge of health and safety practices in fabrication and welding.
